NTI

Hyperactivity of the trigeminal nerve is triggered by night-time teeth clenching. This problem then leads to chronic headaches and migraines. However, through the use of a NTI/TSS Mouth Guards these headaches can be reduced without drugs or surgery.

This easy solution is a small plastic appliance, similar to a mouth guard, which is worn over the front two teeth at night to prevent contact of the canine teeth and molars. However, it is slightly different than a traditional mouth guard in that the night guard covers the teeth in one arch, allowing the patient to bite on plastic. However, when dealing with issues with the trigeminal nerve, it is important the molars and canines do not touch anything (not even a plastic mouth guard) in order to reduce jaw clenching. This appliance does just that by reducing the intensity of jaw clenching and teeth grinding and preventing headaches.
