Dental Implants

We often take our healthy teeth for granted until we lose them. Recent data indicates that 69 percent of adults have lost at least one tooth. Many people simply endure the unpleasant side effects of missing teeth, because they don’t realize the risk factors involved. Missing teeth can lead to a host of problems, including gum disease, additional tooth loss, and a shortened lifespan. Dr. Frankel can rejuvenate your smile and restore your health with dental implants.

Made from biocompatible titanium, a dental implant forms an artificial tooth and root, creating a permanent replacement tooth. As the closest prosthetic to nature, dental implants allow patients to achieve solid, healthy smiles. Because implants require sufficient bone structure for successful treatment, Dr. Frankel will assess your mouth to make sure you are a good candidate for implant therapy.

The first stage of implant therapy involves a brief oral surgery in which Dr. Frankel will surgically position the post(s) into your jawbone. In the months following surgery, your bone will to fuse to the dental implants, creating a secure foundation for your prosthetic tooth. After the healing process completes, Dr. Frankel will place a permanent crown on each implant, or anchor a denture to a few strategically-placed implant posts, and you will enjoy a fully-functioning smile.
